There are plenty of tall towers offering great views around the world, but how many actually open their top balcony to public for a windowless 360 degree view of the city?? Answer, Tokyo City View @Roppongi !!
250m above sea level, Tokyo City View at Roppongi Hills is situated in an artistic, entertainment area of Tokyo. You can buy the general admission ticket at the 2nd floor of the tower, but there is an option to pay a little more for another ticket to go to “Sky Deck,” where you will be allowed to step on the balcony at the very top of the building, without windows, without people everywhere, and able to look at 360 view of the Tokyo City while feeling the wind !! Note that wind is strong at Sky Deck, and they will ask you to place your backpacks and other personal items in the lockers they provide ~
You do not have walk around shops, no fight for the window with the best view on Sky Deck, the whole area is clear with views of Tokyo Tower from any angle you want!! (Photo on left above)
For couples who wants to see the night view, Tokyo City View offers night view of Tokyo Tower, and they even have chairs around the windows so you can sit can lean on each others shoulders ~ (Photo on right)
Another great part about Tokyo City View is Mori Art Museum in the same building, where they host many modern art exhibitions from time to time. The museum was exhibiting artworks about “Love,” and one of the exhibition piece was the poka dot room concept from Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama (photo above).
For Japanese television fans, the building next door is Asahi Television Station (Photo Above) , where they film the popular Japanese shows like “London Hearts” and “Music Station.” Asahi TV also feature anime like Doraemon and Slam Dunk. The first floor of Asahi TV Station is open to public with exhibition areas and souvenir shop. When I was there they had Doraemon exhibition areas ~
